BIOGRAPHY
Sjaak Douma (* 1986) is a pianist, composer, producer, and music transcriber. Perhaps best known for his indie-electronic output as Analogue Dear, he has recorded and released music since 2012 through notable labels as bitbird (San Holo’s imprint) and Erased Tapes, to acclaim by FACTmag, Vice, and Indieshuffle. As a collaborator, Sjaak has worked with accomplished mathrock guitarist Yvette Young, and has released official remixes for Nils Frahm, San Holo, Droeloe and Catching Flies. As a composer, Sjaak has worked with Gemeente Rotterdam, Ons Amsterdam and Innovatielabs.
As a music transcriber, Sjaak has worked with BMG, Universal Music, Britten Pears Arts, Podium Klassiek and artists such as Mike Boddé, Iris Hond, Remy van Kesteren, Michiel Borstlap and Cor Bakker. In 2023, he started his own sheet music imprint Schvung.
Next to composing, arranging and transcribing music, you can find Sjaak in his Rotterdam-based studio teaching piano, and working on multi-disciplinary platform Hoekhuis together with Katía Truijen.
